Candidates who successfully complete the course will receive a First Aid Responder certification issued by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC).

This certification confirms that the participant has demonstrated the required knowledge and competence to act as a first aid responder.

To maintain a valid certification, participants are required to complete a refresher training course within the two-year period. It is the responsibility of each certified participant to ensure that refresher training is completed before the expiration date. The refresher course is one day long and is offered by SafeHands to ensure continuity of certification.

Renewing the certificate through a refresher course helps to maintain compliance with safety regulations and ensures that first aid responders are up to date with current best practices in emergency care.

Why Certification Matters

Having a certified first aid responder on-site is not only a legal requirement for many workplaces, but also a vital safety measure. Emergencies can happen without warning, and immediate response can make a significant difference in the outcome.

The knowledge and skills gained through this course allow responders to act quickly and confidently, which is often critical in medical situations. Certification through PHECC ensures that the training meets nationally recognised standards. By maintaining an active certification, you are helping to create a safer environment for colleagues, customers, and members of the public in any setting.
