Food Safety/HACCP System - Design and Implementation

SafeHands will design and implement a specific Food Safety/HACCP Management System for your organisation. This will enable your business to comply with current Food Safety Legislation.

Environmental Health Officers are authorised under the Childcare Act 1991 to carry out Food Safety Inspections

Staff Training

The following courses are specially adapted to suit the training requirements of childcare staff, and all courses can be customised to include any points your specific organisation may require.

Safety Statement

A Safety Statement is a legal requirement for all organisations. The Safety Statement is a written document which describes how Health & Safety within your organisation is managed. A Health and Safety Statement is your duty of care to your employees and clients to manage risks and hazards in the workplace. In order to comply with current legislation, an up to date written, site specific Safety Statement must be implemented by all Childcare and Early Years organisations.

SafeHands will provide your organisation with a Safety Statement including a site-specific Risk Assessment.

Legal Requirements in the Childcare and Early Years Sectors

Environmental Health Officers are authorised under the Childcare Act 1991 to carry out inspections of pre-school services including sessional, part time day care, full daycare, childminding, drop-in centres, temporary drop-in centres and overnight pre-school services. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team the EHO along with the Preschool Services Officer (PSSO) work to ensure that the requirements outlined in the Child Care (Pre-School Services) (No 2) Regulations 2006 as amended, are achieved and maintained. These requirements strive to underpin the development of pre-school children and to ensure their health, safety and welfare while attending a childcare facility. Where is there is failure to meet legal requirements, the pre-school inspection team may consider taking legal action against a pre-school provider.

Childcare Specialist Training

As well as Safehands' workplace Health & Safety courses, Safehands also offers the following training which has been specifically designed with the Childcare sector in mind.

SafeHands can deliver these training courses in-house and onsite at your company premises at a very reasonable cost.
