HACCP based Food Safety Training - Primary Food Hygiene Course (FSAI Level 2)

There is a legal requirement Regulation (EC) 852/2004 that all food handlers undertake food safety training commensurate to their duties. This brand new course takes into account all of the recent changes and requirements in Food Safety legislation and standards. This food safety course updates all existing materials and focuses on the requirement under Regulation (EC) 852/2004 (Hygiene of Foodstuffs). The Food Safety Authority (FSAI) and Department of Health and Children have provided assistance in the development of this food hygiene course.

Optional FETAC 5 Certification

FETAC Level 5 certification is optional with an additional FETAC admin fee.

Primary Food Hygiene Course Content

The course consists of:

  1. Food Hygiene Awareness
  2. Food Delivery & Food Storage
  3. Food preparation, cooking and hot holding
  4. Personal hygiene and good hygiene practices
  5. Cleaning awareness and Pest Control
  6. HACCP awareness and monitoring requirements

Primary Food Hygiene Course Certification

On completion of the course there will be a written assessment (an oral assessment can be taken by arrangement with the tutor). Successful participants will be awarded a Certificate in Primary Food Hygiene (Level 2) which is valid for 3 years.

Who Should Attend

This course is intended for food handlers involved in the food industry in Ireland.

*No qualifications or previous course attendances are required to complete this course.
